And where very happy with the turnout and also that most attendees could stay for both days. They were joined by ISPW staff as well as representatives from RRMac Associates - USA, RSM Partners - UK, Query Informatica - France and BreezeIT – Australia.
We believe the conference was a real success based both on customer feedback after the event and active participation during activities. Most customers expressed high satisfaction with ISPW support and product but certainly suggested plenty of improvements for
Commerce Bank led off with an introduction to their cross-platform implementation of ISPW. As part of the SHARE curriculum we were pleased to see folks from IBM and other interested companies in the audience. Subsequently Commerce did a more detailed discussion of exactly how they support their 300+ Windows servers and dozens of AIX and HPUX servers in an automated build and deploy process controlled by ISPW. To see their presentation slide please look at ISPW.com, News and events.
Following that there was a presentation on Why DevOps is the new big thing in Agile Development. The key message was that for ISPW users they are already there with the cross platform deploy. What others are talking about (Agile, DevOps, etc.) are old concepts in ISPW and we have 10 years of field experience to prove it. Clive Smith reviewed the capabilities of the deploy environment and demonstrated key functionality.
Craig Tomas then led a session on integration of ISPW with ALM tools like MKS Integrity, IBM’s RTC or CollabNet’s TeamForge. Pat Rosmarin from State Auto described the implementation there with special emphasis on integration with RDz. Clive wound up day 1 with a review of the ISPW Roadmap. What’s in expected over the next few months is all covered in his posted presentation including lots of work going in to the GUI, connecting via web services and key functional improvements.
The last day was spent reviewing customer requirements including quite a few from Commerce, FedEx and ICBC. These were subsequently reviewed at the technical summit and a report is expected in the next few weeks.
In short the conference was so was so successful we are thinking of a European and USA version for next year. Your thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.
